Bronchial Epithelial Stress Responses
HIF-mediated signalling, and matrix remodelling under hypoxic airway conditions
HIF1α expression increases in ALI bronchial epithelial cultures under hypoxic-mimetic stress.
Primary human bronchial epithelial cells (HBEpC) from healthy and COPD donors in 14-day ALI cultures treated with CoCl₂ or BiPS; HIF1α levels measured and normalized to total protein (BCA assay) (Stats: one-way ANOVA; n as stated; mean ± SEM; *p<0.05, **p<0.01, ***p<0.001)
Hypoxia or stabilizator–induced COPD markers in Healthy and COPD cells
Stress responses: Hypoxia- and TGF-β–driven fibrotic activation and remodelling
Hypoxia- and TGF-β–associated fibrotic gene expression in normal (HPF) vs IPF fibroblasts.
HPF and IPF fibroblasts were treated for 6 hours with CoCl₂, TGF-β1, or SB431542 (with TGF-β1), and COL1A1, ACTA2, and VEGFA expression was quantified and normalized to GAPDH. (Stats: one-way ANOVA; n as stated; mean ± SEM; *p<0.05, **p<0.01, ***p<0.001)
