Cytokine Storm Assay

The overproduction of cytokines by the immune system triggered by stimuli such as therapeutic interventions, infectious biological agents or certain immune disorders is part of the collection of clinical manifestations known as the cytokine storm. Utilising the expertise of the team at Cellomatics, PBMCs or other isolated blood cells are exposed to test substances and the resultant cytokine levels measured. This provides a mechanistic insight into the immune system response and serves as a cost effective pre-clinical tool for early risk mitigation against subsequent severe adverse events during clinical trials.
